We arrived in Switzerland late last night. Matthias and I drove from Zurich to Schaffhausen, and when doing that, you must drive through a portion of Germany, so technically I have been to Germany as well! We spent the first night at his parents house in Schaffhausen. Unfortunately his parents are on holiday in southern France so I was not able to meet them, but next weekend I hope to meet Matthias`s brother when we go to a professional hockey game. We drove today from Schaffhausen to Grachen. So we drove pretty much from the north part of Switzerland to the south part, to the Alps. We went over Grimsel Pass and down another valley, and then Grachen is in this valley, up on a little plateau. Beautiful place. Matterhorn is not far away and we plan on doing some hiking and things of that nature. I bought a pipe today too. I also broke my year and a half or so of being alcohol free and I had 2 glasses of wine which is from this area when I broke in my new pipe. Good first full day in Switzerland. More to come this week. It is now 12:30am Tuesday morning and at 2:30am here will be when Monday night football is on, so we are gonna stream the Vikings/Packers game online! Thats all for now... The note that Matthias`s parents left on the door of the room I stayed in the first night in Switzerland, they also left a pile of Swiss chocolate on a napkin with the Swiss flag on it. THANK YOU!
